Graduate Fashion Week 3rd – 6th June

Now in its 27th year, Graduate Fashion Week continues to bring the latest innovative and exciting emerging talent to the world’s attention with a four-day event in London on the 3rd – 6th June 2018. Supported by the likes of patrons Victoria Beckham, Christopher Bailey, Vivienne Westwood, Nick Knight and brands such as John Lewis, Clarks, M&S and Swarovski; new this year are the internationally renowned Diane Von Furstenberg and Nadja Swarovski as additional lifetime patrons and brands such as Ralph Lauren and Levi’s.

This June, Graduate Fashion Week will also be celebrating the expansion of its International Fashion Award Show, featuring students from the likes of Academy of Art University, FIT Fashion Institute Technology, Parsons, Pratt, Rhode Island School of Design, SCAD  as well as universities from Japan, China, Italy, Australia etc. Starting with only four universities just five years ago, this year sees a total of 47 universities taking part. Last year’s winner, Po Chieh Chiu, Shih Chien University has gone on to show at Fashion Scout during London Fashion Week, and 2013’s winner Angus Chiang has launched a successful fashion house and is now a regular at Paris Fashion Week, even collaborating with Nike for the 35th anniversary of the Air Force 1 sneaker for his AW18 collection.

Scottish student, Maddy Stringer, from Edinburgh College of Art, was selected for the official Graduate Fashion Week 2018 campaign. Having been featured in Weekday campaigns, and recently signed by Wilhelmina models, Char Ellesse is an emerging model and creative, fighting for visibility and representation across the industry. Char wore Maddy’s bold red designs which uses architectural shapes to highlight the dominant pieces.

Scottish colleges taking part in this year’s Graduate Fashion Week include: Edinburgh College of Art, Glasgow School of Art & Heriot Watt University.
