Green Thomas is the brainchild of design duo Emma Green and Alan Thomas Dibble, they met on the first day of the MA fashion course at Central St. Martins and have been pals ever since. After graduating, the pair went to work for international companies in London, Australia and the U.S. as designers. Last year they got together and over a G&T decided to launch their own brand. They both love colour and patterns and are dedicated to developing a contemporary Scottish Knitwear label with the best yarns and best local makers.
Previously exhibiting at Scottish shows such as Scotland Re:Designed Fashion & Accessories showcase back in 2015 and this year at PaisleyMake, Green Thomas are now being stocked in Fortnum & Mason, John Lewis, Whistles and the Glasgow School of Art. Their first full Autumn/Winter Season will be on display with their first store drop this month.
Alan, Director at Green Thomas also runs Fashion Foundry, an incubator programme for emerging fashion designers based at South Block, in Glasgow’s south side. Fashion Foundry offers designers the work space and facilities to produce collections whilst also providing workshops, advice and mentoring.
The brand have developed brand-new exclusive colourways for Fortnum & Mason and Whistles, taking inspiration from the late Sonia Rykiel. They love to work with in-house buyers to develop complimentary accessories for their outerwear collections.
All of Green Thomas’ products are made in the Scottish Borders in a small family run company who have years of expertise producing world-renowned knitwear.
The classically cool herringbone and houndstooth collection is exactly what we need to keep us cosy now that Autumn is creeping in. Keep your eyes peeled on Twitter for further updates.
