Glasgow Uni Charity Fashion Show

Last week we were kindly invited to the inaugural Glasgow University Charity Fashion Show to find out what the students have spent their last year planning.

A team of 110 society members; including 18 committee members pulled the show of 22 models and 11 brands/stores together over the course of a year.  It’s no wonder they had 600 attendees throughout the night – a huge result for the teams first foray into the catwalk!

The show featured several SR:D collaborators and exhibitors including 2014’s New Talent Award winner, KellyDawn Riot who showcased her beautiful menswear collection.

As well as Kelly’ designs, down the catwalk were the creations of SR:D Exhibitors ten30 and Arsalan.  We were treated to a visually exciting show, including some rather scantily dressed male models!  We were also gifted a rather generous gift bag which featured treats from sponsors Kiehl’s and Benefit Cosmetics.

The fundamental reason for the evening was to raise funds for The Beatson Peabble Appeal. The University of Glasgow’s research in Cancer Studies has been rated in the top five in the UK and the best in Scotland. They have made research into cancer one of their major research priorities and, over recent years, have invested over £20million in new facilities to maintain their leading contribution to understanding cancer. The result of this investment is a multi-disciplinary environment of world-leading scientists and cancer-specialists housed in state-of the-art facilities to address the latest challenges in cancer diagnosis, research and treatment.

Even if you missed out on all the fun of the evening, you can still make a donation towards this worthy charity by clicking on this link!

Thanks Glasgow Uni for the invite – can’t wait to see what you’ve got in store for next  year.
