The epitome of rock-and-roll fashion, Scottish brand Mairi McDonald are launching their brand new line, Off Duty at Coterie show, New York 18-20th September as part of a handpicked selection of new designers to showcase within the TMRW section of this prestigious show.

The ethos behind the new line is easy to wear, Off Duty cool with Mairi’s signature rock ‘n’ roll dark edge. Their contemporary, laid-back, dress down staples effortlessly transition from day to night luxury. The free-spirited pieces include intricate hand illustrated,  digitally printed silks inspired by Paisley pattern. Moroccan and Indian influences include delicate henna designs.

A graduate of the renowned London College of Fashion, achieving a BA Hons in Fashion Design Technology: Womenswear. Mairi began her career with Julien MacDonald working on catwalk showpieces and celebrity commissions and gained further experience with Givenchy.  With an aim to learn from the best, Mairi continued to master her craft with an impressive portfolio of labels across womenswear, menswear and textile design before launching her own eponymous luxury brand.  Mairi McDonald has shown at consecutive London and Paris fashion weeks since launching in 2014, gaining luxury stockists and press coverage from leading fashion publications.

Inspired by rock ‘n’ roll and iconic women in music, Mairi was selected by MTV to collaborate with British Singer Jess Glynne on a short film about the label in conjunction with the MTV EMA’S and has attracted attention from key women in and around the music scene including Ariana Grande and Alicia Keys.
