Scottish-born visionary Pam Hogg, known for her eccentric designs alongside Turner Prize nominated artist Christine Borland, are to be honoured by Glasgow School of Art for their “contribution to the creative life of the nation”. Both GSA graduates will be recognised with Honorary Doctorate of Letters today.
Pam Hogg, a key figure in British fashion design and art since the early 1980’s, now regularly puts on rocking shows with the amazing team at Fashion Scout – and is also quite the musician; joining her first band, Rubbish, to DJ’ing with us at a Burns Night hosted by Vogue.com, Harvey Nichols and Christopher Kane in association with VisitScotland back in 2008, to supporting The Pogues in their early years.
Ms Hogg said: ‘It’s a great honour to receive my Honorary Doctorate of Letters, especially from Glasgow as it’s this city which gave me my identity, my character and inspiration.’
