SR:D Fashion Award Winner Karen Mabon Launches at Anthropologie

Last month, luxury silk accessories designer, Karen Mabon was awarded the SR:D Fashion Award Funded by Creative Scotland. The young designer and Royal College of Art alumni has seen her products feature in Vogue, Elle and Harpers Bazaar; pretty impressive, huh? Judged by this year’s fashion panel, including Mark McDonald of 18montrose, Fashion Industry Advisor David Watts, Maggie Smith of Folk & Macandi and Brand Consulant Darren Skey, the award is part of Scotland Re:Designed’s ongoing promise to secure business relationships and provide new collaborations for Scottish designers, with focus on business & export. In celebration, we round up Karen’s highlights.

Back in 2013, Karen was invited by Anthropologie to design a scarf for their AW drop. In November of this year, her favourite store asked her back to stock gorgeous silken pyjamas, which we are just obsessed with!

Quite literally the cats pyjamas!

“I am very excited to present the pyjama collection we created exclusively for them! Available in stores across the UK & USA and online too!!” – Karen Mabon

As well as this, Karen had also been asked to collaborate with Radley leather accessories, working closely with the design team to create ‘In the Bag’, a collection of five ruby leather bags, clutches and purses. The last remaining pieces from the collection available here.
