SR:D Glasgow was a very special celebration for us as we celebrated our 10th anniversary. With visits from ASOS, Edinburgh International Fashion Festival, Onward!, W2 Store, 18montrose, The Industry, Macandi, Folk, NOWNESS, Darren Skey and Adeela Salehjee the event was one to remember.
This year’s theme ‘evolution’ was apparent throughout. Opening the runway was the phenomenal London design duo Teatum Jones who’s SS17 collection Tough, was inspired by Glasgow and its LGBT community. After introducing themselves to the crowd, they let their video Talk to me, like Lovers do speak for itself. Featuring Glaswegian model Misha Hart and musician boyfriend Conor Goldie, the film shows Glasgow in its truest form: non-conforming and completely accepting. Missed the film? Catch it here and fall in love with Glasgow all over again.
We were so grateful to have had internationally acclaimed Glaswegian model Connor Newall walk for us. Connor stars in the poignant short-film about knife crime, ‘One Knife. Many Victims’. Tunes provided by Moogroove served as an atmospheric backdrop for the evening, before the breathtaking Dakota Deluxe kept our party going till the early hours.
Post-runway, we announced our SR:D 2016 Award winners.
