To conclude our #SRDHK2016 series meet Kestin Hare, menswear designer from Edinburgh. After launching a brand new store and recently collaborating with high street chain, M&S, Kestin puts Scotland directly on the fashion map.
With 15 years of experience under his belt with Reiss and Nigel Cabourn, Kestin Hare, the former creative director of Common People launched his eponymous menswear label in 2014. The brand combines Hare’s core values of UK production and quality fabrics with the craftsmanship and the contemporary aesthetic for which he is known. The collections are all designed from his design studio in Edinburgh.
Earlier this month, Kestin launched a capsule collection with high street chain, Marks and Spencer, without compromising on quality. Albeit a smaller name, Kestin’s garments will no doubt have a similar effect on the store as fashion stylist, Alexa Chung’s new collaboration will.
Reflecting on the trade mission in Hong Kong, Kestin’s Assistant Designer, Angela McBride states, “The showcase at PMQ has been a fantastic experience, the space is a great design hub with a lot of exciting things happening. We have had some really promising feedback and follow ups from the buyers that we met at the event and throughout the week, including Harvey Nichols, Hong Kong who are interested in placing an order. There seems to be a great network here making it very easy to do business!”.
