This November, SR:D returns celebrating luxury and making at SR:D’s annual event with a ‘Makers’ theme this year. With support from Creative Scotland the event opens on Wednesday 8th – Sunday 12th November with a showroom, an interiors, fashion and graduate symposium, mentoring sessions, runway, awards ceremony plus a curated weekend Hypermarket. The event takes place at multi-cultural arts venue SWG3 and SR:D will host the first ever runway in its newly built Galvanizers.
SR:D Glasgow will, for the very first time in Scotland, host a showcase and runway featuring luxury knitwear produced from SR:D Hawick, the exciting manufacturing venture between British brands and historic knitwear factory, Hawick Knitwear and Paisley pattern pieces from Pringle of Scotland’s AW17 collection.
This year’s guests and event panel include Owner and Director at Jane Davidson, Sarah Murray, Group Brand & Marketing Manager at Harvey Nichols, Gemma Hare, co-founder at GRAS Architects Gunnar Groves-Raines, Communications & Business Development Manager at Bute Fabrics Wendy Murray and Fashion Historian / Media Communications & Events Director, Paul Bhari amongst others. There will be talks chaired by Fashion Journalist Hilary Alexander alongside Director at Fashion Scout and Graduate Fashion Week, Martyn Roberts and legendary fashion designer, Pam Hogg.
The weekend Hypermarket provides a unique opportunity to browse and buy local product, bringing SR:D’s calendar to a phenomenal crescendo with exquisite food and drink, creative demonstrations, live music plus high-end fashion brands and interior designs.
