David Watts is a consultant Fashion Industry Adviser based in London. He is an international director with a successful career at building and leading world class sales, marketing, creative development and brand strategies within the Fashion and Creative sectors. With a career spanning more than thirty years he has worked across the fashion, consumer product licensing and brand development in the UK, USA, and Japan.

With a passion for contemporary art, in 2000 he was a founding partner of The Art Attack Project – a contemporary art gallery in Hoxton, East London and developed a following for many of the then YBA’s [Young British Artists] many of whom are household names today.

Today his passion and knowledge of the fashion industry is both extensive and renowned and he views a designer’s career and brand with a 360 degree holistic approach, both from a creative and importantly a commercial viewpoint. He has been responsible for mentoring and assisting the career development of some of Britain’s brightest emerging designers today.

In 1999 Maggie and her brother Cathal established Macandi Showrooms, a distributor of mid-high end fashion; a business which was sold in November 2015. Specialist markets included UK, Russia and Japan. In 2001 they then launched Folk Clothing, a lifestyle brand which now spans menswear, womenswear, footwear and is currently expanding into objects for the home via Folk Studio. Folk owns and operates 3 stores within central London, has 2 shop corners with Liberty department stores and is stocked in +200 retail outlets worldwide.

In 2014 Maggie joined The British School of Fashion (the London outpost of Glasgow Caledonian University) where she developed , alongside world renowned retail and marketing specialist Professor Christopher Moore, an MSc in Fashion Business Creation which launched to students in September 2016. In addition to commitments with Folk and The British School of Fashion, Maggie works with a select group of consultancy clients across fashion. lifestyle and business to develop new business strategies and marketing plans.

Glasgow based interior designer and interior writer, Robyn Lang-Shankland has almost 15 years experience designing spaces and furniture for international hotel chains, resorts and private residential clients, which has seen her travel to several countries creating schemes to suit clients needs and specs and turning their dreams into reality. In 2011, Robyn was approached by The Daily Record Saturday magazine to write a weekly interiors column, this took her down a new and very exciting editorial route within the retail sector of interiors, sourcing, inspiring and influencing readers in how to decorate like a designer, getting key looks and trends season to season, up-cycling projects to do at home, and showcasing local companies, designers and artists. This opened doors at Scotland’s glossy No.1 Magazine helping them with their monthly My Humble Abode feature; sourcing wow factor homes in and around Scotland, conducting interviews and writing features.

William is the show director of two of the UK’s high profile design events: the country’s largest contemporary design exhibition, 100% Design and the leading independent design festival Clerkenwell Design Week. A design promoter since joining the Design Council as Public Affairs Manager in 1999, his experience includes working across international exhibition programmes, content and business development, communications and business strategy.

As the Deputy Director of the London Design Festival for eight years William has extensive knowledge of establishing brands, large scale events and the positioning of design content within both commercial and cultural contexts. The boutique in Thistle Street showcases an eclectic assortment of designer brands hand picked by Sarah herself. Three floors of a townhouse are filled with an amazing selection of contemporary fashion from the likes of Theory and Preen as well as an impressive selection of denim from J Brand and Donna Ida.

Sarah is also adviser to Atterley.com, an online portal that consolidates the best stock from fashion retail boutiques and independent labels across the globe.

Secretary & Treasurer: The Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland

Previously Deputy Editor of Architectural Design, Assistant Secretary of RIAS and principal of his own architectural/interpretation consultancy, Neil Baxter has taught at the Mackintosh School, lectured on urbanism at Glasgow University, written for The Telegraph, Herald, Sunday Herald, Homes & Interiors and AJ and is a frequent media spokesman.

Among numerous publications Neil wrote The Wee Green Book, a History of Glasgow Green, edited Glasgow’s medieval history, A Tale of Two Towns, edited A Life in Cities, the autobiography of David Mackay (MBM, Barcelona) and the follow-up On Life and Architecture. In 2016 he co-authored and co-edited Scotstyle: 100 Years of Scottish Architecture (1915-2016).

Neil has been CEO of the RIAS since March 2008. In May 2008, he received Glasgow’s Lord Provost’s Award. In 2013 he was awarded the Royal Incorporation’s Honorary Fellowship and in 2016 the Honorary Fellowship of the RIBA.

Ian Springford is a director of ISA, Architects and Interior Designers and Chairman of Apex Hotels.

Ian studied Architecture at the Edinburgh College of Art between 1989 and 1995. On leaving Edinburgh College of Art, Ian began his architectural career with Reiach and Hall Architects in Edinburgh before establishing his own practice in 2000.

ISA are Edinburgh based architects and interior designers. The practice works on a broad range of building types including hotels, offices and residential projects across the UK.

Apex Hotels owns and operates nine 4 star hotels in London, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee. Their tenth hotel, Apex City of Bath is currently under construction and is due to open Summer 2017

Her main focus is on creating photography-based images and patterns and she pioneered their application on functional everyday products when digital printing technologies were first developed. Ella makes seasonal collections of ready-to-buy home accessories, stationery products and gifts and works to commission for commercial, charitable and private clients. Because of her extensive experience in design, manufacturing and selling she is also a sought-after mentor, a role she has always been happy to take on. Ella is a fellow of the RSA.

Gunnar Groves-Raines studied Architecture at the University of Strathclyde before co-founding GRAS with Stuart Falconer in 2006. GRAS is an architecture and design studio which exists to create extra-ordinary things and places through the exploration of ideas, materials, techniques and technologies. Through its work, the studio seeks to bring the often disconnected design and making processes closer together encouraging collaboration and experimentation across disciplines. Ewan has 20 years of experience in creating brands across multiple sectors and markets, including Vodafone, Levi’s, Peroni, Canon, HSBC, and recently, in partnership with Fosters+Partners, creating a brand for Jeddah Metro.

While still a student, Ewan won the top student design prize from the Royal Society of Art, and an award that took him to New York following his graduation to design exhibitions at the Metropolitan Museum. On returning to the UK, Ewan began working in London as a retail designer at Fitch. During his time at Fitch Ewan worked on retail concepts for Oasis, Lego and BA.

In 2003 Ewan joined Brand Union’s newly formed Brand Experience team. The breadth of work at Brand Union allows Ewan to use his training in exhibition and retail design to breath new life into tired brands as well as creating entirely new brands across multiple touch-points.

In 2016, Swaid officially launched luxury brand MIU MIU’s Snapchat account with content and creative direction; also consulting for ADIDAS Originals on social media casting.

Currently, Swaid serves as the Social Media Editor of LVMH’s editorial platform – NOWNESS, Social Media and Digital Creative Consultant for System Magazine, and as a Social Media consultant for Jefferson Hack’s DAZED Media Studio.

Adeela is a London based designer, knitwear specialist, creative director and entrepreneur with well over a decade of business, luxury and fashion industry experience. Her extensive training includes a BA degree in Textile Design from Central Saint Martins where she specialised in knitwear, as well as a BA in Business Marketing from the American University London.

Since graduating she has worked for and been head-hunted continuously by many well-known fashion houses including Dior Couture, Calvin Klein and Vivienne Westwood amongst others. Her experience has ranged from designing and developing collections, directing and managing large creative teams, fashion sourcing, building and nurturing client and production relationships, through to working on marketing and PR activities. It has also led her to having an intricate understanding of both foreign and domestic design and retail markets.

Most recently she spent eight years at Burberry as a designer and developer across a wide spectrum of creative departments. During this time she worked with the creative powerhouse of Christopher Bailey and Angela Ahrendts, at a particularly exciting and challenging time for the iconic brand as it innovatively forged the way for fashion brands in a new digital age, setting new benchmarks for fashion industry standards.

She is also the founder of her eponymous fashion label Adeela Salehjee which specialises in versatile, modern, timeless pieces with a special focus on working with natural fibres. Cashmere, merino wools, baby alpaca and cottons remain central, which she sources from hand-picked, sustainable suppliers around the world. There is something distinctly charming in the knowledge that each spool of luxurious yarn and therefore garment, can be traced back directly to the animal from which it came.

Her deep knowledge of the luxury and fashion market have moulded her vision to provide her customers with luxury essentials that consistently adhere to the latest environmental standards, whilst striving towards being a key player championing environmental preservation and eliminating waste.Her driving force has always been to create beautiful pieces whilst remaining mindful of how the creation of her designs affect the environment. Consequently, the products are as gentle to the skin as they are to the environment.

Danielle Radojcin is editor at large at ASOS. She studied History of Art at The Courtauld Institute before going on to work at Vogue, GQ and Hearst Digital and freelancing for Harper’s Bazaar and The Independent. As well as creating fashion content for social media and hosting panel talks, she hosts and produces the ASOS My Big Idea podcasts, most recently at London Fashion Week where she interviewed Alexandra Shulman about the Vogue documentary. She also broadcasts Violet Sessions, a series of podcasts with creative pioneers available on iTunes.
