Shelter Scotland -

In 2023, Scotland Re:Design (SRD) is partnering with Shelter Scotland to offer 8 Scottish designers a chance to create inspired designs using free Shelter Scotland shop fabric or stock. These designs will be featured in the Scottish Fashion Festival 2023, emphasizing sustainability, equality, and technology, and winning designers will receive support, publicity, and access to Shelter Scotland's resources to bring their creations to life.

The project is a fashion competition focusing on activism for housing rights, with eight winners currently creating their designs. It aims to use fashion as a tool for initiating conversations, educating, and driving social change. Contestants are tasked with designing runway-ready looks that explore the housing rights theme and integrate sustainability, promoting the idea of prolonging clothing lifespans and minimizing waste. This competition combines creativity with a commitment to activism and sustainability in the fashion industry.
